Grammar differences that matter
Japanese often places the verb near the end and can omit subjects that are clear from context. Particles mark roles, and politeness changes verb endings and vocabulary. Learn complete chunks so rhythm, pitch and register stay natural.
Culture, politeness & local speech
Japanese politeness changes with relationship and setting. Start with です／ます and お願いします with strangers or at work; close friends often use shorter plain forms. Slower teaching speech must preserve natural rhythm and pitch.
Choose the speed you need for each phrase
Every phrase has four playback choices right beside it: Neutral, Slow, Slower and Slowest. Replay any speed as often as you need; there is no separate repeat control.
