Grammar differences that matter
Indonesian verbs usually do not change for person or tense. Time words, context and affixes carry meaning, while informal speech may shorten or replace standard forms. Learn the standard phrase first, then the local casual version.
Culture, politeness & local speech
Start with standard Indonesian and polite choices such as saya, Anda, tolong, permisi, Pak/Bu or Kak when appropriate. Casual forms such as aku/kamu, nggak and aja depend on relationship, age and region.
Choose the speed you need for each phrase
Every phrase has four playback choices right beside it: Neutral, Slow, Slower and Slowest. Replay any speed as often as you need; there is no separate repeat control.
